Wido, James Michael 64 years old, of Lindenhurst, IL, passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 at his home. He was born December 17, 1948 in Rochester, NY, the son of the late Francis and Constance (Fernandez) Wido. In 1974, Jim married Mary Short and they lived in Rochester until moving to Lindenhurst in 1993. Jim was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He served as a corpsman in the United States Navy from 1967 until 1970 and was the recipient of a Purple Heart. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Mary; his two children, James (Teyre) of Waukegan, IL and Robert of Lindenhurst, IL; two grandchildren, Ryleigh Marie (10 years old) and Rogan Bradley (3 years old); and four siblings, Anne Marie (Andy) Hagler of Rochester, NY, Jeanne (Donald) Nalewalski of Rochester, NY, Noel (Ann) Wido of Canandaigua, NY, and Celeste (Timothy) Short of Rochester, NY. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by four siblings, Connie, David (Ingrid), Patricia (Donald) Hackel, and Mary. Memorial services with Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2013 at St. Raphael the Archangel Church, 1/4 mile east of Rte. 45 on IL Rte. 173, Old Mill Creek, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. (Rte. 83).
