Gary C. Jensen Obituary
Jensen, Gary C. Born October 8, 1952, will be remembered as a gentleman, a man's man, a man of stature, honesty and many talents. His beautiful, genuine smile complimented his wonderful sense of humor. Gary was the loving husband and best friend of Kathleen Brown-Jensen and a great friend to many. He passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago with his wife and loving family at his bedside. Gary, who was born in Billings, MT, was an avid handball player and champion swimmer. He earned his MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School of Management. During his lifetime he enjoyed many outdoor activities such as RC airplanes, bow hunting, golf and skiing. His love of wildlife was best depicted by his extraordinarily realistic duck decoy carvings. Gary served his country in the United States Navy where he traveled the world competing in swimming, shooting and handball on the Navy's teams. He moved to Illinois in the late 1970's to start his technical career with the former VA Medical Center in North Chicago. His career advanced into increasingly challenging positions culminating with his recent retirement from the corporate headquarters of Walgreens. He will return to Montana when his family spreads his ashes over Hellroaring Plateau, Beartooth Mountains. Gary was preceded in death by his father LeRoy and mother Barbara. He is survived by his brothers, Rich (Ilene) and Tom; sisters, Kristen (nee Jensen) (Hans) Hunger and KJ (Jerry) Teller.
