Parker, Samuel Of Beach Park, IL, formerly of North Chicago, IL, left this earthly life on August 2, 2013. He entered this life on February 17, 1924, in the city of Burdette, Arkansas, as the son of Lonnie and Aree (Branch) Parker; the fifth child born of 14. Samuel entered into a holy union with Gussie Lee (Bonner) in Catron, MO, in 1942. The couple moved to Illinois in 1944, where they made homes in Zion, Waukegan, North Chicago and Beach Park. From this holy union were born 12 children. Samuel is survived by his wife, Gussie Lee (Bonner) Parker; eight sons, Samuel, Philip, Dennis, Lonnie, Bart, Danny, Adley and Ted; three daughters, Terry Alhassan, Doris Coles, LaWana Carter; 29 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph and John; and one sister, Naiomi "Toy" Varnell of Kenosha, WI. His son, Charles preceded him in death. Samuel worked for American Motors in Kenosha, WI, for 41 years. Samuel devoted his entire life to the service of his Lord, his family, his friends and community. He joined Christian Valley Missionary Baptist Church during the 1960s and served there as a Deacon and Associate Minister. Viewing for Samuel will be held Thursday, August 8th at 10 a.m., followed by Services at Christian Valley Missionary Baptist Church, 2690 Argonne Drive, North Chicago.
