Cichosz, Joann E. Born September 12, 1940 passed away in her sleep March 8, 2013 at Manor Care of Libertyville, IL. She was a lifelong resident of Waukegan and a member of Holy Family Church in North Chicago. Joann worked for and retired from Abbott Labs in North Chicago. Even though she was retired her heart was always with Abbotts. She had many friends there that turned into some of her closest family. Joann was devoted to her family and took care of both of her parents until their passing. She loved children and animals. Her 14 year old puppy, Patches visited her weekly at the nursing home thanks to her niece Lisa Brown and friend Kim Trevino. Towards the end of life she would get such a big smile on her face holding the youngest great-great-nephew, Dane. Joann is survived by her best friend, Patches; nieces and nephews, Wendy Chisolm, Sandra Hiatt, Kathy Whitlow, John (Leslie) Cichosz Jr., Tammy (Jack) Morrow, Michele (Ron) Kaplan, Debra (John) Urman, Christine (Wayne) Maham, Harry (Tina) Goodnight Jr., Kevin (Debbie) Goodnight, Cheryl (Larry) Wolf, and John Goodnight; her brother-in-law, Harry Goodnight; and a host of great and great-great-nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents Amelia and August Cichosz; brothers, John and Anthony Cichosz; sister, Betty Goodnight; great-nephews, Anthony Cichosz Jr., David Zupan, Raymond Goodnight and great-great-nephew, Troy A. Brown. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, March 11, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. and 9-10 a.m. Tuesday at Salata-Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee.
