Dunklin II, Felix Was born September 13, 1920, in Greenville, Alabama. He was the fifth son of eight children of the late Felix Dunklin Sr. and Willie Lee Anderson. Both parents, four brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death. Brother Dunklin moved with his family at an early age to Waukegan, Illinois. He accepted Christ as Lord and Savior and united with Shiloh Baptist Church in Waukegan. Brother Dunklin received his formal education in the public schools of Waukegan, Illinois. In the early 1950s, Brother Dunklin was united in marriage with Julia Mae Page. To this union was born one son, Felix Dunklin III (Poochie). Brother Dunklin served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed by the U.S. Steel until his retirement. An active member of the Elks Lodge, he held the office of Exalted Ruler in the Little Forts Elks Lodge, Waukegan, Illinois. Brother and Sister Dunklin moved to Phoenix, Arizona in the 1980s, and united with the First Institutional Baptist Church. A faithful servant of the Lord, Brother Dunklin actively participated in the church school. Brother Dunklin departed this life on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at approximately 4:00 a.m. He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia and his stepdaughter, Beverly Henderson. Brother Dunklin leaves to cherish his memory his immediate family: one son, Felix Dunklin III (Poochie) and one sister Ruby Bell of Phoenix, Arizona; four nieces, LaNita Mayon, Sharon Bell of Phoenix, Arizona; Diane Bell of Detroit, Michigan and Debra Hilliard of Atlanta, Georgia; two nephews, Richard and Dennis Bell of Waukegan, Illinois. Brother Dunklin will also be missed by his long-time friends Glover and Mary Reynolds and a host of other relatives, friends and church family. A Homegoing Service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at the Shiloh Baptist Church, 800 S. Genesee St., Waukegan, IL. Pastor Walstone Francis, Officiating. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Waukegan, IL. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. arrangements by Bradshaw & Range Funeral Home, 2513 Dugdale Road, Waukegan, IL 847-662-3553.
