Zeit, John "Jack" Passed away peacefully, at age 85, surrounded by his family on October 17, 2012. Born January 20, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio, Jack graduated from (Case) Western Reserve University and served in the US Marine Corp. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sally Lou (Waterman). Adored and cherished by daughters, Betsy (Paul) Florin, Nancy (Tim Wildrick) and Kathy (Wade Christoffel). Beloved "Papa" of Tyler (Nancy) Rivera, Max Florin and Spencer Christoffel. Treasured namesake and great-grandson, Jack Rivera. Further survived by sister, Lois Sturrock, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Dr. Paul Zeit. Jack was an accountant employed by American Steel and Wire in Cleveland and Waukegan, Ozite Corporation and Domino Amjet. During his career, he volunteered with Junior Achievement, Easter Seals and United Way and after retirement, joined Sally in her many volunteer activities. Jack was an active member of Living Faith United Methodist Church. Jack was devoted to his family and lived his life with kindness, generosity and a profound sense of humor. Visitation will be held October 26th at 3:00pm, followed by a memorial service at 4:30pm at Living Faith United Methodist Church at 414 McAree Road in Waukegan.
