Gregory Lynn Jones Gregory Lynn Jones was born in Waukegan, Illinois on October 5, 1954. He was the fourth child born to the late Raymond and Hattie B. Jones. He completed his earthly life journey on July 19, 2010, at his home in Waukegan. In April of 1976, he, along with his family, confessed his belief in Christ while attending Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Waukegan under the leadership of the late Reverend Jonathan N. Lightfoot. At a young age, Greg played the clarinet, and he loved to play board games with his family. As a young man, he liked bingo and card games, and he also enjoyed traveling to places such as Las Vegas, New York, Washington, DC, the Carolina's and the Bahamas. Greg loved listening to "old school" music and attending concerts given by his favorite performer, Diana Ross. Greg was a 1972 graduate of Waukegan Township High School. After graduation, he was hired by the City of Waukegan as an animal warden, and it was during this time that he developed his love for dogs. He also worked at Baxter Laboratories for many years until the company reorganized. Prior to his death, he was employed by the Brown Paper Goods Company in Waukegan. Greg is survived by three sisters: Donna M. Jones of Chicago, Jennifer D. Jones of Waukegan and Andra C. Jones of Silver Spring, Maryland. He was uncle to Bryan P. Jones of Phoenix, Arizona and great uncle to Brinn E. Jones of Los Angeles, California. Treasured memories of Greg's life are left to his great uncle and aunt Ezra and Sara Banks, aunt Irene Jones, and uncle Willie Johnson, all of Waukegan. To celebrate his life, Greg leaves a host of cousins, many other relatives and friends, and close friend Barbara Lopez of Waukegan. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George and Jessie Mae Jones, maternal grandparents, Pascal and Della Johnson, parents, Raymond and Hattie Jones, nephew, Taree Jones and brother, Ronald Jones.
