Ruth E. Hamilton
Age 79, of Libertyville, IL, passed away on Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
She was born February 5, 1931 in Chicago, where she was a 1948 graduate of Kelvyn Park High School. She was a Libertyville resident since 1971 and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. During her early years, Ruth was employed at the Marshall Fields Safety Office in Chicago, later becoming the secretary to the Scout Executive and Camping Secretary for the Boy Scouts of America, Northeast IL Council in Highland Park.
Surviving are four children, David Hamilton of Grayslake, Julie (Craig) Cashman of Libertyville, Jennifer (David) Taber of Wheaton and Mark Hamilton of Mundelein; five Grandchildren, Kyle, Sarah, Emily, Eric and Madeline; two Sisters, Shirley McCluskey and Carol Hammersmith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Robert B. Hamilton in 1974 and by her sisters, Marie, Mildred, Nancy, Margaret, Gwynne, Harriett and Joan.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 25 at Grace Lutheran Church, 501 Valley Park Drive, Libertyville, with Pastor Gordon Cavers, officiating. Interment will be at Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 West Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville.
