Pamela Ann James
Pamela Ann James departed this earthly life on Saturday, April 24, 2010 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Pam was born to the union of Harry Johnson and Grace Gullett on May 23, 1960 in Waukegan, Illinois. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age at Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend J.N. Lightfoot. In 2004, Pam rededicated her life to Christ at Waukegan Community Church under the leadership of Dr. Winfred Obleton. She lived her entire life in Lake County, Illinois. She attended elementary, junior high and high school in Waukegan. Pam and Joe Louis James happily married on February 23, 2001 and they resided in North Chicago. She was employed as a civilian employee for North East Military Sales until her recent health concerns. Pam had a beautiful smile and a love for life. Pam and Joe hosted many functions for family and friends at their home. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother and great friend.
She leaves to cherish her memory her mother; Grace Gullett of Waukegan, IL; a loving husband of nine years, Joe Louis James; three daughters Crystin (Anthony) Gullett of Round Lake, IL and Sylvia Shannon of Gurnee, IL and Joanna Currie of Waukegan, IL; one sister, Mary Gullett of Waukegan, IL; two brothers, Robert (Jeanette) Gullett, and Patrick Johnson of Waukegan, IL; seven grandchildren, Anthony Jr., Jamear and Kahlin Cabell of Round Lake, IL and Za'Maree Williams of Gurnee, IL and Stetphon, Jamya and Johnnie Currie of Waukegan, IL; two aunts; Wyonia Overstreet and Kathy Bailey; one uncle, Nelson Shakur; three special friends, Jennifer Grant, Yvette Walker and Valarie Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Harry Johnson; her maternal grandparents Solomon and Una Johnson; her sister, Anita Gullett; her brother Wallace Gullett; her aunt Norma McClendon and her cousin Blaine Johnson.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Waukegan Community Church, 1016 Grand Avenue Waukegan, Illinois on Friday, April 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church until time of service. Dr. Winfred Obleton, Officiating. Interment immediately following service at Mount Olivet Memorial Park Cemetery, Zion, IL.
