Hopkins, Timothy Wayne "Timmy" Timothy Wayne "Timmy" Hopkins, 54, passed away March 23, 2013 in a Memphis, Tennessee Hospital after his long fight with cancer. He was born on July 16, 1958 in Zion, IL to Aaron and Elaine Hopkins. Timmy was a 1976 graduate of Zion Benton Township High School. After graduating, he joined the United States Marines before settling in the South. He lived in Mississippi for many years before moving to Louisiana to work as a pipe fitter in the oil refineries. Recently, he moved back to Mississippi to spend his remaining time near his beloved grandson, Jesse. Timmy is survived by his father, Aaron Hopkins of Zion, IL; his children, Brandon Hopkins of Pennsylvania, TJ Hopkins of Wisconsin and Tiffany Sholten (Nick) of Mississippi; four grandchildren; his sister, Debbie Harris (JW) of Mississippi; two brothers, Stephen Hopkins of Mississippi and Keith Hopkins (Brenda) of Wisconsin; a stepbrother, Roy Post (Donna) of West Virginia; two stepsisters, Monica Weaver (Robert) of Illinois and Diana Ianson (Richard) of Illinois; his best friends, Chris and Debbie Fooshee of Mississippi and Buddy and Sonia Waits of Louisiana, who took care of him throughout his illness. He is preceded in death by his mother, Elaine; his step-mother, Katherine "Kitty" Hopkins; and a stepbrother, William "Billy" Post. There will be no funeral as Timmy's remains were donated by his daughter to the University of Tennessee Cancer Research Facility. We hope that because of her donation, a cure for the cancer that took his life might save someone else. A memorial will take place in Mississippi on his birthday with family and close friends. He will be greatly missed by the many that knew and loved him dearly, especially his nephew and football buddy, Justin. He will miss you Double Uncle T.
