Powers, Thomas A. 79, Of Gurnee, passed away on Sat. Sept. l5, 2012 at the Winchester House in Libertyville. He was born March l6, l933 in Waukegan and had been a Gurnee and Waukegan resident all his life. A veteran of the US Airforce, Tom was a past commander of the Waukegan American Legion Post #28l, life member of the Winthrop Harbor VFW and a member of the AMVETS. He was a long valued truck driver for Nabisco and Sears and a member of Teamsters Local #70l in Waukegan. Surviving are his wife, Allene Powers of Gurnee; three children, Jeff (Diane) Powers of Green Oaks, Michelle (Patrick) Quilty of Libertyville and Scott Powers of Gurnee; Four grandchildren, Connor, Hayley, Kolton and Tristan. Siblings, Mildred Lundeen, William, Sherry Hacke, Wanda Christian, Donald, Roger and Roberta Stiles. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. l9, 2012 at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 120 W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville.
