Steven L. Wrobel Obituary
Wrobel, Steven L. Age 55, a long time resident of North Chicago IL, died Tuesday, June 26th at his home in Zion, IL. Steve was born September 8th 1956 at the Naval hospital in Portsmouth, VA. Steve worked at the Waukegan Port District for the last 21 years, serving as the grounds manager. A lasting memorial stands at the harbor, Steve's proud achievement which he named "The Prock." He was a member of the Friends of Bill W and the National and Lake Shore Harley Owners Groups, and was a devoted volunteer for the Elder Care program. All who knew Steve loved him well. He loved God, family, friends, his Harley, and horticulture. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a loyal friend. His Harley's odometer reads 106, 119 miles, every mile a memory. His landscape designs grace his yard and the Waukegan Harbor and have been admired by many. Steve has left his mark on the world far and wide. Reminders of his indelible print will spark memories for all of us for many years. He is survived by his devoted wife, Helen Wrobel; four children who loved him deeply, Becky (Kit) Kress, Barb (Ben) Satterwhite, Tammy Wrobel, and Andy (Melinda) Salyer. He was a phenomenal grandfather to 12 and great-grandfather to four. He is also survived by his brother, Randy Wrobel; and two sisters, Cheryl Green and Judy Hamilton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Patricia Wrobel; his mother-in-law, Tommie Lou White; and a grandson, Todd Watts. It is our greatest joy that he will be reunited with them in Paradise. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 29th from 6-9 p.m. at Christian Assembly of God Church, 2929 Bethel Blvd, in Zion, IL where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 30th at 10 a.m. with Pastor Kenneth Fielding officiating.
