Shirley L. Becker Obituary
Shirley L. Becker, 74, of Waukegan, IL passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2009. She was born in Union, IL on June 11, 1934. She lived her early years in Woodstock before moving to Crystal Lake where she attended school there. She graduated from Crystal Lake High School in 1952. She was a life long member of the Methodist Church. She was a very loving and caring person and will be desperately missed. She married Lemuel Parks Becker on March 5, 1955. They moved to different locations in California where her husband was stationed in the U.S. Navy. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Lemuel; five beautiful children, daughters, Sherry (Kurt) Dunkle of Bonney Lake, WA, Karen Becker of Kenosha, WI, Debbie (Gary) Higginbottom of Winthrop Harbor and two sons, Randy (Brenda) Becker of Las Vegas, NV and Robert (Nene) Becker of Kenosha, WI; ten precious grandchildren, Matthew (Dina) Rawson, Robert (Jennifer) Rawson, Lorah (Nathan) Snyder, Phil Rawson, Troy (Jennifer) Becker, Lindsey (Robert) Buscaglia, Derek and Dylan Higginbottom and Jessica and Timothy Becker; and three sweet great-grandchildren, Gabriella Rawson and Geneva and Gabriella Becker. She is also survived by her brothers, Gordon (Brenda) Smith of Crystal Lake, IL and Ron (Ilyse) Smith of Buffalo Grove, IL and a close and dear friend, Doris Barge. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Margaret Smith. Private services will be held at Living Faith United Methodist Church in Waukegan, IL. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to either Living Faith United Methodist Church, 414 McAree Road, Waukegan, IL 60085 or National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., Office of Development, 1501 NW 9th Avenue/Bob Hope Road, Miami, FL 33136-1494 (www.parkinson.org).
