Rudolph W. Alderin
Rudolph W. Alderin, 94, of Gurnee, IL (formerly of Bonita Springs, FL) passed away Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Winchester House in Libertyville. He was born July 3, 1915 in Waukegan.
He retired from U.S. Steel in Waukegan in 1977 after 40 years of employment. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army. He was a member of the VFW, Waukegan and Bonita Springs Moose Lodge, American Legion and he enjoyed fishing, bowling and gardening.
He is survived by his daughters, Patricia (George) Alexoff of Gurnee, IL and Judith (Michael) Sutter of Chandler, TX; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff on the 4th floor of Winchester House for their excellent care for the last one and a half years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Opal in 1990; grandson, Matthew Lepke in 2001; three sisters and three brothers.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Winchester House 4th Floor.
A gathering for family and friends will begin at 2:00pm with a Celebration of Life to take place for Rudolph at 3:00pm on Sunday, August 2, 2009 at the home of his daughter, Patricia Alexoff.
