He retired from the company, moved to Northern Virginia, then to Baltimore, MD and continued working in the same capacity for MCI in the DC Metro area. He retired in 1992 and fulfilled a life-long dream of building a cabin in the mountains of West Virginia. Richard was a dedicated family man, and was known to friends and family as "Papa Har". He loved to watch his kids and their friends play sports. He possessed a strong work ethic which enabled him to become successful. Those who knew Richard appreciated his sense of humor, generosity, and his willingness to lend a helping hand at any time.
