Machak, Joseph M. "Big Joe", "Rodeo" 57, of Beach Park, Illinois died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital. He was born June 16, 1955 in Waukegan, Illinois and spent most of his adult life there after growing up in North Chicago. Joe was employed as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator and repairmen, but was truly a "jack of all trades". He also loved working on refurbishing classic cars and trucks. He was a member of the North Shore Rods. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy of six years and her son, John (Courtney) Sojer and their little girl, Riley; her daughter, Katie (Chris) Sojer; sisters and brothers, Sue Zook of Lake Villa, Illinois; Linda (Jay) Balen of Bristol, Wisconsin: Nancy (Mike) Donachie of Fayetteville, Georgia; John (Karen) Machak of Waukegan, Illinois; Mary (James) Urbanik of Salem, Wisconsin; Gerry (Bill) Clarke of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin; Jimmie (Esther) Machak of Gurnee, Illinois; and Kelly Machak of Antioch, Illinois; 14 nieces and nephews, Mary Zook, Nicholas, Amanda, and Melissa Balen, Adam and April Donachie, Andrea Machak, Joe and Kyle Urbanik, Brittany and Madison Clarke, and Alex, Bradley, and Raymond Machak. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond "Big Daddy" Machak and Sarah Doris Machak. Relatives and friends may call from 3 until 8 p.m. on January 21, 2013 at the Gurnee-Salata Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee, Illinois.
