Joseph J. Antolik Obituary
Antolik, Joseph J. A resident of Wildwood for 44 years, passed away Thursday July 26, 2012, at the age of 80. He was born February 25, 1932 in Johnstown, PA, to Andrew and Mary Antolik who had immigrated from Czechoslovakia. Joseph was a member of Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church and was active in various senior groups. He was a veteran having served in the US Army from 1948 to 1968. Joseph was involved in the rebuilding of Germany after World War II and served 14 years overseas. He later worked for Libertyville National Bank for 15 years and later in the Civil Service at Fort Sheridan and Great Lakes Naval Base until his retirement. Joseph enjoyed traveling, reading, movies, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan. Joseph is survived by his children, Anita (Bobby) Phillips, Joyce Churchill, and Joseph (Marsha) Antolik Jr.; his grandchildren, Carl Phillips and Joseph Antolik; his great-grandchildren, Kylan, Kiera, Tylan, and Quinlan, and his brother, Andrew (Dorothy) Antolik. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 50 years Irmgard, and his brother, John Antolik. A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 31, 2012 from 4:30pm until 7:30pm at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium 410 E. Belvidere Rd. Grayslake, IL 60030. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday August 1, 2012 at 10:00am at Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church 285 Washington St. Grayslake, IL 60030. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Libertyville, IL.
