Alfano, John, Sr. 93 lifelong resident of North Chicago, IL passed away on Monday March 5, 2012 at the Terrace Nursing Home in Waukegan. John was born July 3, 1918 in Waukegan and was a member of Queen of Peace in North Chicago and was a former member of Mother of God Church in Waukegan were he had been an usher. He was an avid gardner. He is survived by four children; John J. (Claretta) Alfano, Jr of Kentucky, Richard Alfano of Georgia, Carol (Frank) Turk of Waukegan and Betty Seger of North Chicago; five grandchildren Dean, Scott and Kenneth Seger, Michelle Fanning and Debbie (Chad) Thompson; one great granddaughter Melissa Seger. He was preceded in death by his wife Rose (DeBevic) Alfano in 2000, brothers James, Albert, Fritz and Bill; sisters Pearl Celesnik, Blanche Potochek and Louise Schuster.
