Anderson, Ivory "Andy" 77, passed into God's glory Thursday, January 30, 2014. He was born in Cairo, IL February 12, 1936. Affectionately known as "Andy", he was employed at the VA Medical Center "Downey" in North Chicago, IL for 55 years as a cook. Andy was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Waukegan, IL under the leadership of Pastor Arthur Gass. He leaves his children to cherish his fond memories, Ivory Lewis (Milwaukee, WI) Sharon Curtis (Dalton, IL), Deborah Lewis, Cornelious Lewis, Janice Perry (Chicago, IL) Aaron Anderson (Grayslake, IL); 3 stepchildren, Gary (Tammy) James, Glynise (Layconia) Brown (Zion, IL) Gay (Tony) Oliver (Lansing, MI); 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister, Augustine Johnson (Chicago, IL) and a dear companion, Velma Hanford (Zion, IL) and a host of other relatives. Home Going Service will be Saturday, February 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at C. B. Taylor Funeral Home, 63 East 79th Street Chicago, IL. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Evergreen Park, IL.
