Iris Larkin Obituary
Larkin, Iris O'Bren Was born on August 19, 1963 in Coatopa, AL. She departed this life on February 28, 2013 at Highland Park Hospital, Highland Park, IL. She was a mother, sister, aunt and best friend. Iris loved sports and played basketball for her High School (Waukegan East) and softball for the Blaster girls' softball team. Iris loved spending time with her family and her laughter would light up the room. Iris was a member and Secretary of St. Paul Baptist Church, Waukegan, IL under the leadership of Pastor J. C. Coleman until time of illness. Iris leaves to cherish her longtime companion, Sammie Jenkins, Jr.; a son, LaMar D. Lewis; a brother, Willie T. Larkin; three sisters, Barbara (David) Parks, Pauline Redd and Marlene Brown all of Waukegan, IL; four aunts, Augusta Pruitt, Bessie Ross, Georgia Bizzell and Lucy Collier; two nieces, Shawntaya L. Hill and Lacey Simpson; one nephew, Wesley D. Simpson, Jr. and four great-nieces and nephews, Lorenzo L., Blessin S., Jada M., and Amarie D.; along with a host of cousins and friends including one special friend, Corie Adams. Iris was preceded in death by her mother, Sadie L. Banks; uncles, John Bizzell, Sr., Reuben E Collier, Sr., Walter L. Bizzell, Ernest Finch; cousins, Murray Finch, Kenny Ross, Peter Bizzell; and her grandmother, Fannie Finch. A Celebration of Her Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 11:00A.M. at the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 409 Wainlow Avenue, Waukegan, IL. Rev. Dr. Arthur J. Gass, Sr., Pastor. Pastor J.C. Coleman, Officiating. Interment will be at Pineview Memorial Park Cemetery, Beach Park, IL. Visitation will begin at 10:00A.M.
