Florence "Flossie" Miller, 79, of McHenry, died Thursday, January 21, 2010 in her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 6, 1930 in Lake Forest to Alvar Oscar and Ina Helen (Johanson) Lindell.
On February 14, 1971 she married Charles "Chuck" Miller in McHenry.
She was an avid golfer and a lifetime member of the McHenry Country Club where she got a hole-in-one in 1972.
Well traveled, she took many trips with the love of her life, Chuck. She enjoyed playing bridge with her many friends and for 19 years she was a snowbird in Scottsdale, AZ. She had many wonderful friendships in both Illinois and Arizona.
Survivors include her three children, Robert P. (Joan) Rettig of Libertyville, Gary S. (Kathleen) Rettig of McHenry and Jeffrey (Dawn) Rettig of McHenry; five step-children, Cookie (Palomo) Morales, Charles (Joan) Miller, David (Jan) Miller, Allen (Sandy) Miller and Brian Miller; five grandchildren, Trista (Erik) Wilde, Marnie (Luke) Lukenbill, Jamie (Greg) Cline, Sandra (Russell) Allabastro and Kaylie Rettig; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, January 25, 2010 at the Colonial Funeral Home, 591 Ridgeview Drive, McHenry, IL. Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Patrick Countryside Cemetery in McHenry.
