Andruszko, Ernest Age 84, of North Chicago, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2011, at Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest, IL. He was born in Hoduciszki, Poland, on September 26, 1926, and retired from Abbott Laboratories in North Chicago after 24 years of employment as a Preventative Maintenance Inspector. Ernest was a member of Queen of Peace Church (formerly Holy Rosary) since 1954, belonged to the Knights of Columbus #731, and was a lector for the polish mass at Immaculate Conception Church. He was also a lifelong handyman and a huge asset to the polish community in North Chicago. Survivors include his five children: Ernest T. (Barbara) Andruszko of Arlington Heights, Maria Andruszko-Szostak of Gurnee, Christopher (Deborah) Andruszko of Beach Park, Veronica Andruszko of Mundelein, and Julia (Robert) Schwartz of Winthrop Harbor; nine grandchildren: Joseph, Robert, Danielle, Juliana, Patrick, Christopher, Eric, K-Lynn, and Alyssa; and former wife, Elizabeth Andruszko of Libertyville. He was preceded in death by one sister, three brothers, and his parents. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, from 4:00-7:00pm and again on Thursday morning, February 17, 2011, from 8:30-9:30am at the Salata Funeral Chapel, 729 14th Street, North Chicago. Mass of Christian burial will follow at Most Blessed Trinity (Queen of Peace), 910 14th Street, North Chicago with interment at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville.
