Bajorek, Betty J. 88 of North Chicago passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Rolling Hills Manor in Zion. Born May 8, 1924 in Round Lake, the daughter of the late Henry and Flossie (Sheldon) Pilling she married James Joseph Bajorek on August 7, 1943 while he was serving in the US Army during WWII. Betty was a member of Most Blessed Trinity Church (Queen of Peace site) and was a 1942 graduate of Waukegan Township High School. She loved her family and friends, her home in North Chicago and camping on Lake Mary in Crystal Falls, Michigan. She is survived by two sons; James of Beach Park and David (Judy) Bajorek of South Bend, Indiana; three daughters Nancy Gibson of Elkhart, IN, Carol (Don) Brandon of New Haven, MI and Judy Latak; eight grandchildren; Christina McMillan, Melina Bowen, Jennifer Schecter, Brian Gibson, Harold and Daniel Ruffalo, Connie Brandon and Peter Latak; 11 great grandchildren, one brother in Law Bill Veasey of Tampa, FL. several nieces and nephews, dear cousins who remember wonderful times at dance contests in the early days. She was preceded by her husband Jim on December 13, 1977, her parents, step parents, five sisters Irene, Beatrice, Florence, Viola and Geraldine and one brother Glen. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 5:30-8:30pm at Salata Gurnee Funeral Home 4190 Old Grand Avenue, Gurnee and 9-10am Monday January 7, 2013 at Queen of Peace Church. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10am with interment to follow at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville. Donations may be made in her memory to STAR Hospice.
