Joerns, Barbara A. Age 67, of 455 Pepper Avenue, Wisconsin Rapids, died Monday, August 5, 2013 at her home, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Seventh-day Adventist Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Thursday at the Church. Pastor David Guerrero will officiate. Graveside Services will take place 10:30 AM Friday, August 9, 2013 at Mount Olivet Memorial Park in Zion, IL. Barbara was born October 29, 1945 in Waukegan, IL to the late Marvin and Lorene (Leech) Cowart. She married Eldor Joerns on October 29, 1982 in Zion, IL. She was employed as school bus driver for the Zion-Benton School District in Zion, IL, retiring in 1995. Barbara enjoyed planting flowers, cooking, fishing, traveling after her retirement and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Eldor of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; children, Tammy (Tom) Bullock of Newnan, GA, Cindy (Tim) Hansen of Gurnee, IL, Michael Joerns of Crystal Lake, IL, Terry (Dawn) Joerns of Fox Lake, IL, Kelly (Steve) McGillivray of Fox Lake, IL; brother, Doug Cowart of Friendship, WI; sisters, Margaret (George) McGillivray of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Ocene Lindelof of Mobile, AL; 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James, Gene, Ellie and Jerry; sisters, Ann and Johnnie; granddaughter, April.
