Roser, Thomas Charles Passed away on September 25, 2013, at the age of 77. Born April 15, 1936 in Libertyville, IL, he was preceded in death by his parents Julia (Schmidt) and William Thomas Roser, and his brothers William J. Roser and Jacob Brefeld. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Jo (Stripe) Roser, four children Michelle (Greg) Major of Oak Park, IL; Pamela (David) King of Libertyville, IL; Gail (John) Frew of Waukegan, IL; and Brad Roser of Round Lake, IL; six precious grandchildren, Alyssa and Joshua King, McKenna and Reese Major, and Stephanie and Bailey Frew; sister, Betty Gamble of Plano, TX, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Mr. Roser, a U.S. Army Veteran (1959-'65), worked for many years as a civil servant, retiring in 1994 as chief of the Plans Division for the Department of Defense. He also served for 10 years on the Waukegan Special Police Force. Tom was a Harley Davidson enthusiast for many years, known as "Lock and Load" to his fellow riders. He was intelligent, spiritual, funny, introspective, and tenacious, but he will be most fondly remembered for the tremendous love he had for his wife and family. The wake will be held Friday, September 27, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Peterson Patch Funeral Home 408 N. Sheridan Rd., Waukegan, IL. The funeral mass will be on Saturday, September 28, at 11:00 (10:00 visitation) at St. Dismas Church, 2600 Sunset Ave., Waukegan, IL. Graveside service will be at Ascension Cemetery, 1920 Buckley Rd. in Libertyville, IL.
