Griffin, William Issac Age 84, a long-time Mundelein resident, passed away July 23, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill was born in Ardmore, OK on December 11, 1928. In 1946 he joined the U.S. Navy
and proudly served until his honorable discharge in 1967. He was then employed by Pepsi-Cola until his retirement in 1995. On September 8, 1961 Bill married Bernice King in Newport, RI. Bill was an avid amateur radio operator, and loved to make and listen to bluegrass music, but most of all he loved to spend time with his family. He is preceded in death by his two sons, Matthew and Joseph. Bill is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bernice; his sons, Bernie (Eileen), Bill Jr., Charlie, Jimmy (Lori), Mark (Maria), and daughter, Edith. He will also be missed by his ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A funeral with full military honors will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Elwood IL, at 11:00 am. The entire family would like to thank the Midwest Hospice team for their care and compassion.
