
Kane, Richard Edward Dick Kane, a long-time former Lake County resident, passed away in Sedona, Arizona on December 22, 2012, at the age of 86. Born in Brooklyn, he was a Navy signalman in
WWII aboard the USS New Mexico. Postwar, he worked for
General Motors and married Ruth Needham on Grand Island, Michigan, where fishing became a lifelong summer activity. From 1961-1977, the Kanes lived in Waukegan, where he formed Kane Marketing Communications. In 1978, they moved to HeatherRidge, and were instrumental in saving its old oak woods entry. They retired to Sedona in 1993. Dick is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth, sons, Jim Kane of Philadelphia and John Kane of Las Vegas, and his sister, Christina Kanabrodzki of Sedona. Greer Mortuary of Sedona served the family. A memorial service will be held on February 15, 11:00a.m. at the Church of the Red Rocks in Sedona.
