Lawrence Ceskowski

Ceskowski, Lawrence 88, of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, completed his life journey on March 28, 2013. Born April 4, 1925 in Milwaukee, WI. Larry served as a Seaman in the United States Merchant Marine from 1942 to 1945, serving in the Atlantic, Pacific, and Mediterranean theatres during World War II. He married Emily of Waukegan in 1947. Larry was a self-employed commercial fisherman in Waukegan. He later retired from North Shore Gas Co. in Waukegan. Larry was an avid boater and enjoyed Lake Michigan in all its moods. He also loved gardening, sharing his produce with friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his brother, Steve; his sister, Hildegard; and his wife, Emily. Larry's surviving children are: Steve (Janet) Ceskowski, Beach Park, Gale (Jerry) Bruns, Iron Mt., MI., Laura (John) May, Gurnee. Grandchildren include: Hannah and Sharon Ceskowski, Mike, Shawn and Ryan Bruns, Kristin Fortner, Scott Hightower and Jamie Rasmusson. There are 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Larry peacefully passed from this life at home in the care of Brenda, Christine, Sally, Tonya, and Kelly at Carey Manor, and the Hospice Alliance team of nurse Pat S., Chaplin Gary, and Jenny. The family couldn't have made this journey without you. A celebration of Larry's life will take place on his beloved lakefront April 4, at The Waukegan Yacht Club, from 10 a.m. noon.
