Ankenbauer, Paul Stephen Age 45, of Plainfield, Illinois, and formerly of Ogden, Iowa, died Tuesday, June 19, 2012, of kidney cancer.Visitation was on Thursday, June 21 at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home & Crematory, 24021 Royal Worlington Dr., (Route 59 Chapel), Naperville, IL.There was a visitation at Newman Center, Iowa City, IA on Saturday, June 23.A private family burial was held at the West Branch Cemetery, West Branch, IA.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to "Children's Education Fund c/o Jamie Ankenbauer", 24350 Blazing Star Court, Plainfield, IL 60585. Paul was born August 18, 1966 in Boone, Iowa to Wayne and Patricia Ankenbauer and grew to adulthood on a farm west of Ogden. He attended Ogden schools, where he graduated in 1985. He was a talented athlete and was a member of several Ogden football teams qualifying for state playoffs. Paul attended Iowa State University and the University of Iowa, graduating in 1990 with a B.A. in Communications. He was employed in sales and marketing for several companies, including Sales Mark, Solvay Animal Health, Wyeth, and Pfizer. He married Jamie Schiele on May 27, 2000, at Iowa City, IA. Paul was a wonderful father to their three children, Jack (age 10), Hailey (9), and Colin (4). He especially enjoyed their lake home in Wisconsin. Surviving are his wife, Jamie and three children, Jack, Hailey, and Colin of Plainfield, IL; his parents, Wayne and Patricia Ankenbauer of Ogden, IA; sister, Mary Nidetz of Thousand Oaks, CA; three brothers, Joe (Penny) Ankenbauer of Council Bluffs, IA, Bob (Mary) Ankenbauer of Portage, MI, and Bruce Ankenbauer of Simpsonville, SC; mother-in-law, Janann Schiele of Iowa City, IA; sister-in-law, Jill (Ron) Pierce of Chaska, MN; and brother-in-law, Lance (Jeni) Schiele of West Branch, IA.
