Williams, Mary Alice Age 70, resident of Naperville since 1970, died peacefully at home Friday, October 5, 2012 after a 17 month battle with brain cancer. She was born September 10, 1942 in Evergreen Park, Illinois. Mary Alice is survived by husband, Gar; daughter, Gail (Tim) True of Richland, Michigan, son David (Sarah) Williams of Naperville and nine grandchildren, Timothy, Joshua, Rebekah, Hannah, Matthew, David; Elizabeth, Lydia, Daniel; sister, Ginny (Walt) Smith; brother, Orville (Pat) Borrowdale; niece, Cheryl Borrowdale and nephews, Tom and Brian Krueger. Mary Alice graduated with a teaching certificate from Northern Illinois University in 1964. She married her sweetheart Gar on June 27, 1964. Mary Alice loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and was a servant in every aspect of her life. She was an active member of her church, most recently Grace Pointe Church. Her heart for teaching children, encouraging women and supporting missions was always evident. Mary Alice also enjoyed gardening, quilting, and genealogy, but most of all cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mary Alice spent many decades with Gar enjoying their 1930 Ford, attending aviation events, and more recently touring with their vintage 1936 Bowlus trailer. The family is comforted with the knowledge that Mary Alice is now residing with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 9th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Grace Pointe Church located at 1320 East Chicago Avenue in Naperville. A celebration of Mary Alice's life will be Wednesday October 10th at Grace Pointe at 11:00 am with Reverend John Bell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to Wayside Cross Ministries of Aurora (waysidecross.org) or Loaves & Fishes Community Pantry (loaves-fishes.org).
