Loren Alfrey Obituary
Alfrey, Loren 87, of Aurora, and formerly of Naperville, passed away on February 15, 2012. Beloved husband of Marion Alfrey for 61 years, married on March 11, 1950. Loving father of Michael (Tina) Alfrey, Daniel (Carol) Alfrey and Diane (William) Bowers. Devoted grandfather of Kathryn, Margaret, and Matthew Alfrey and great-grandfather of Jackson. Fond brother of Wilbur Alfrey. Also loved by nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Marla Alfrey. Loren was employed at Illinois Bell for many years. He was a WWII Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army, U.S. Air Corp. He attended the University of Illinois at Navy Pier and Champaign, Illinois. He played alto clarinet in the U of I Marching Band. He loved acting and music and was an active member of Naperville Community Theatre for many years. He was a member of the Ameritech Pioneers and a member of Grace United Methodist Church since 1971, an active member of the choir and an active volunteer for many years. He is loved and will be missed by many. A visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home & Crematory, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville, IL. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 18 at 10:30 am with a viewing from 9:30 am until time of service at Grace United Methodist Church, 300 E. Gartner Rd., Naperville; Interment, Kaneville Cemetery, Kane County, Illinois.
