Barenbrugge, James R. "Jim" Age 83, a resident of Yorkville, IL, former longtime resident of Naperville, IL, died Monday, February 18, 2013 at his home. He was born December 18, 1929 in Naperville. Beloved husband of Fern (nee Fischer) Barenbrugge, whom he married April 7, 1962. Loving father of Guy (Karyn) Barenbrugge of Aurora, IL and Reid Barenbrugge of Naperville; adored grandfather of Jack and Alex Barenbrugge; devoted son of the late Joseph H. and Laura M. (nee Hiltenbrand) Barenbrugge; loving brother of Fran (Cindy) Barenbrugge of Naperville, Anna Mae "Annie" (Lenny) Cerny of North Miami, FL and the late Joseph Jr. (Eleanor) Barenbrugge, Carl (the late Irene) Barenbrugge and Rosemary (Wendell) Fry; fond uncle and great-uncle of many. Jim grew up in Naperville, attended SS. Peter & Paul Grade School and was a graduate of Naperville High School. He served aboard the U.S.S. Battleship Missouri during the Korean War and later was employed by Cock Robin in Naperville and for many years as a custodian and bus driver for Naperville School District #203. Jim was a former member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Naperville and was a volunteer Naperville firefighter. Jim enjoyed golfing, swimming and camping. Memorial Visitation Saturday, February 23, 2:00-6:00 P.M. at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville.
