Decker, Michael R. Of Bonita Springs, FL died November 21, 2012, after a heroic battle with cancer. He was born August 8, 1947, in Marion, OH to Floyd and Joanne (Walker) Decker. Mike attended Marion Harding High School and was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University. After retiring from a corporate and entrepreneurial career, Mike joined Vic's Painting as a Project Representative in Florida. Mike was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in Vietnam. He was a Purple Heart recipient. Mike's zest for life permeated everyone around him. An avid golfer and sports enthusiast, he lived his life to the fullest. Mike could always be counted on to use his skills to help his family, community and friends. Most of all, he felt his greatest accomplishment was his family and children. Mike is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Patt (Baker) Decker; his children, Mike (Carmen) Decker of Castle Rock, CO, Jen (Justin) Wheeler of Navarre, FL; his mother, Joanne; his brothers, Max (Sue) Decker of Butte, MT, Russ (Anne) Decker of Lima, OH; and his grandchildren, Lukas Wheeler, Sophia and Gianna Decker; and he was the fond son-in-law of Lucretia (Pat) Baker and nephew of John Walker. He was preceded in death by his father. Services and inurnment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery. Memorials in Mike's name may be made to Joanne's House at Hope Hospice, 27200 Imperial Parkway, Bonita Springs, FL 34135.
