Hittle, Merle F. Age 85, of Aurora, IL passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012. He was born September 18, 1926 in East Peoria, IL, the son of Jacob and Nora (Taylor) Hittle. He married Roberta A. Mansfield on July 3, 1946. He was a US Navy Veteran, who served in the South Pacific during WWII. Merle retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company after 30 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He is survived by his children, Richard (Kathleen) Hittle of Naperville, Patricia (Patrick) Burke of Oswego and John (Stefanie) Hittle of Montgomery; Grandchildren, Jim (Amanda) Burke, Tim (Julie) Hittle, Valerie (Balaam) Barajas, Laura (Richard) Pass, David, Mark (Ashley), Alyssa and Sarah Hittle; four great-grandchildren, Ryan Pass, Casey Barajas, Jacob Pass and Damien Burke; three sisters, Viola Bader, Ruth Heinrich and Mary Edington and sister-in-law, Sue Hittle. Preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 62 years Roberta, and several brothers and sisters. Family will be receiving guests from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 22, 2012 at Dieterle Memorial Home 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Dieterle Memorial Home with Pastor Phil Sheets officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montgomery, IL.
