Hicks, Leslie Wayne Age 89, a resident of Naperville since 1969 passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at Edward Hospital in Naperville. He was born October 1, 1924 in El Campo, TX. Mr. Hicks earned his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A & M University. His studies were interrupted by the outbreak of WWII during which he served in the Army. He then worked around the globe constructing oil refineries for Amoco Oil Co. Wayne was a dedicated member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Naperville where he contributed through his work on the building committee. He also served as a PFLAG board member and in his spare time he enjoyed gardening, woodworking and international travel. He is survived by his wife Myrtle (nee Greebon) Hicks; two children, Curtis W. Hicks and Leslie A. (Sonny) Jones; two grandsons, Michael and Matthew Jones; a niece, Sue Strickland and a nephew, Neal Hicks. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Helen Hicks and his brother, Maurice Lee Hicks. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 12th, 2013, 10:00 a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church, 21 East Franklin St., Naperville. Interment Naperville Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 from 4:30 p.m. 8:30 p.m. at the Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home and Crematory, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville.
