Kuhn Jr., Andrew M. "Andy" Age 90, of Naperville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 surrounded by his proud family. Andy was born on October 12, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois. He was a graduate of Fenwick High School and enlisted in the United States Army where he became a 1st Sergeant in Cannon Co. 127th Infantry 32nd "Red Arrow" Division. During his service, Andy received the Bronze Star for his actions during combat in WWII and was honorably discharged. He returned home to begin his career in the banking business and meet his beautiful wife of 66 years, Joan Riedy of Naperville. Andy retired as the Vice President of Naperville National Bank to become the founder and President of Metropolitan Computer Canter Inc. of Naperville. He was also a member of Naperville V.F.W. Post #8373 and American Legion Post #43 and recently recognized as the longest standing member of the Naperville American Legion Post. Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Sr. and Anna (nee Wehling); brother, Carl W.; and grandson, Eric Severyns. He is survived by his wife, Joan (nee Riedy); children, Gregory (Patricia), Thomas (Suzanna), Christine Severyns (Daniel), Elizabeth Allard (Rupert), and Peter (Linda); grandchildren are Michael (Kimberly), Emily (James), David (Amanda), Paul, Cynthia (Brad), Katherine (Bryan), Ryan, and Danielle; his great-grandchildren, Andrew, Alexa, Karter, Kasey, Allison, Greyson, Addison, Teegan, Quinn, Brooklyn, Ashton, and Brennan were all fortunate to spend time with their "Great-Grandpa Kuhn." His entire family will always cherish the many Cubs games they watched with him, fishing, gardening, and family Christmas Eve at the house. Family and friends are invited to gather at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL, on Thursday, August 14, for a 12:30 p.m. committal service with military honors.
