William W. "Bill" Parker

Parker, William W. "Bill" Age 71, a 33-year resident of Naperville, IL, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2014 at Seasons Hospice. He was born January 2, 1943 in Ann Arbor, MI. Married for nearly 47 years, Bill is survived by his loving wife, Bev (nee Snyder); adored children, Karen Parker (Laurence Marks) and son, Drew Parker; twin brothers, Jim and Jerry Parker; and grandsons, Luca Marks and twins, Asher and Theo Marks. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elnor (nee Coles) and Ivan Parker. Bill earned three degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Michigan. He spent his career working in telephony at Bell Labs (Colorado and Illinois), ITT (Connecticut), and Rockwell (Illinois). He enjoyed playing sports, collecting stamps, playing bridge, and sharing time with his cats. He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Naperville where he served four years as treasurer. He loved Chicago sports, especially Cubs and Bears, and all things University of Michigan. Special recognition goes to Seasons Hospice staff for the care they gave Bill and their support to the family. A memorial service will be held at First Congregational UCC on April 26 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational UCC, 25 East Benton, Naperville, IL 60540; Camp Michigania (note "Bill Parker Fund" on check), 3006 Camp Sherwood Rd., Boyne City, MI 49712; or , 8430 West Bryn Mawr, Suite 800, Chicago, IL 60631.
