Dr. Robert B. Montgomery

Montgomery, Dr. Robert B. 79, of Leesburg, FL, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Born in East Saint Louis, IL, he lived in Naperville from 1961-1978. He moved to Mid-Florida Lakes, Leesburg, FL, in 1995 from Charleston, IL. He was a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine and a long-time member of the American Podiatric Medical Association, Rotary Club, Florida Craftsman, Mount Dora Art League, and a Florida Master Gardener. While in Naperville, in addition to his medical practice, Dr. Montgomery also served as President of the Lions Club and was involved with community projects such as The Barn, Joe Naper Days and Last Fling. Prior to moving to Florida, he was a medical missionary. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sue Montgomery, Leesburg, FL; three daughters, Cynthia Cann, Alpharetta, GA, Ann Murphy, S. Barre, VT, Elizabeth Hand, Broken Arrow, OK; three sons, Robert B. Montgomery, II, Berlin, Germany, Dr. Peter Montgomery, Lake St. Louis, MO, Jon Montgomery, Bartlett, IL; brother, Roger D. Montgomery, London; sister, Carol Reasor, Tavares, FL; 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Montgomery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Bruce Allen White Montgomery Scholarship at Eastern Illinois University is requested.
