J. Rodney Blauser

Blauser, J. Rodney 1925-2014. J. Rodney Blauser, 88, formerly of Naperville, died on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Pleasant View. Memorial Services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, with the Rev. Peter Ward, Chaplain of Pleasant View, officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home. A committal service will be at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Naperville followed by interment in the Church Columbarium. Rodney was born on September 27, 1925 in York, PA to John and Naomi (Kindig) Blauser. Rodney received a Degree in Industrial Engineering from Penn State University, and received his MBA from the University of Chicago. He was employed in administration at Argonne National Laboratory. He married Ruth Bird on September 3, 1950 in York, PA. Rodney was a U. S. Navy Veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific Theater of Operation. He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Naperville. Rodney is survived by his wife, Ruth; 4 children, Doug (Marilyn) Blauser, of Kansas City, MO, Linda (Greg) Hanley, of rural Sheridan, Bev (Dave) Boldt, of Flower Mound, TX and Valerie (Mike) Baker, of Rochester, MN; 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Virginia Louise Blauser. Memorials may be directed to Pleasant View.
