Hostert, Evelyn Marie (nee Eipers) Age 90, of Lockport, passed peacefully Thursday, August 1, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lemont, living in Lockport for the past 67 years. She was employed by several restaurants in Lockport as an exceptional baker. Her last job was at Corwin's in Lockport. A member of St. Joseph Church, Lockport, former active member of St. Dennis Church and Altar and Rosary Society and former member of the VFW Ladies Auxilliary. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister aunt and friend to many. She had a passion for baking, but most of all, she cherished spending time with her loving family. Preceded in death by her devoted husband, Sylvester "Dutch" Hostert (2009); a daughter, Kathleen Rose Cornell; her parents, William and Florence (Strauley); step-mother, Rose Stamm; a brother, Lloyd Eipers; and a sister, Cerene Homerding. Survived by her children, Peggy Popovich, Ken (Kim), Janet (Larry) Viano, Dale (Debbie) and Gary (Vicki); 15 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Earl Eipers and Gerald (Joyce) Eipers; sisters, Dorothy (Leonard) Strahanoski, Gloria Ricken and Verna Konicek. Numerous nieces, nephews and many friends also survive. In lieu of flowers, family request memorials to charity of donor's choice would be appreciated. Visitation Sunday, 2:00pm to 7:00 pm in the O'NEIL FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 1105 E. 9th St. (159th St.), Lockport. Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, 10:00 am at St. Joseph Church, 410 S. Jefferson St., Lockport. THERE WILL BE NO GATHERING AT FUNERAL HOME ON MONDAY. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
