Johnson, Donald J. Of Lockport, Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Silver Cross Hospital. Born in Door County, Wisconsin, living in Lockport since 1975. United States Korean War Army Veteran. Retired in 1997 from Caterpillar after 32 1/2 years of service. He was a member of St. Dennis Church, Lockport, Lockport American Legion John Olson Post #18 and the Joliet Moose Lodge #300. Don was an avid bowler and was a member of the Board of Directors Joliet Area USBCBA for over 20 years, Board of Directors Illinois Bowling Association for many years and was inducted into the Joliet Area Bowling Hall of Fame. He also was an assistant Scout Master for Lockport Troop #52. He loved fishing and jello shots. Don was an avid Green Bay Packer fan. Preceded in death by his parents, William and Exilda (Londo) Johnson and nine sisters. Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Carol (Brauer); his children, Terry Haller of Dwight, Michael D. (Sandra) of Joliet, Brian J. of Joliet and Mark W. of Chicago; grandchildren, Tom Davison and Jason (Brandi) Davison; great-grandsons, Drake and Dalton Davison and a sister, Dorothy Schley of WI; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends also survive. Don's family will greet relatives and friends in the O'NEIL FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 1105 E. 9TH ST., LOCKPORT, Monday, 4:00 pm until time of Memorial Service at 7:00 pm with Deacon Rob Wiereman officiating. Inurnment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood with full military honors at a later date.
