Pryor, Leo H. Jr. Age 86, of Lockport, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the Illinois Veterans Home in Manteno surrounded by his family. Born in Rushville, Illinois, Leo lived in the area since 1949. Leo taught Chemistry and Physics at Lewis College, and then at Lockport Township High School where he was Science Dept. Chairman and taught Chemistry. Leo left LTHS in 1974 to be a Science Coordinator at Valley View School District 365U and then taught at Romeoville High School until he retired after 42 years. Leo served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Lockport American Legion, Lockport Lions Club, National Science Teachers Association, the IFT and AFT. Leo was also an avid golfer. Preceded in death by his parents, Leo Sr. and Faye (Brewer) and a brother, Albert (Louise). Survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lois (Taylor), his daughters Linda (Dave) Brown of Lockport and Laurel (Tim) Bankroff of Crown Point, IN, grandchildren Ryan and Josh Brown, and Tim and Taylor Bankroff, and a brother Gerald (Nancy) of Rushville. Leo's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the Joliet Area Community and Kankakee Valley Area Hospices for all their loving care and concern. In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made in his name to the LTHS Foundation (1323 E. 7th St., Lockport, IL 60441) for science scholarships, Joliet Area Community Hospice, Kankakee Valley Area Hospice or the First Congregational United Churchof Christ, Lockport. Memorial services will be held 4:00 pm, Friday, April 27, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 700 E. 9th St., Lockport. Private interment with Military Services will be held at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date. Arrangements by:
