James R. Coppert
78, a longtime resident of Plainfield, IL. At peace, November 1, 2009 at his home with his family at his side. He was born November 10, 1930 and raised in St. Charles, IL.
James is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, D'Ann Coppert; his devoted children, Michael P. (Milana) Coppert of Las Vegas, NV, Kimberly A. (James) Wood of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Stacey L. (Larry) Surinak of Naperville, IL; his grandchildren, Jordan Coppert, David and Sara Paulson, Bryan Fortenberry, Kristen and Ashley Surinak; his great-grandson, Cameron Paulson; his step-children, Vincent D. (Jang Mi) Johnson and Victoria D. (Alex) Miller; his step-grandchildren, Alexander Johnson, Jacob and Aidan Miller; his brother, Roland (Cindy) Coppert; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his beloved first wife, Alice M. Coppert in 1978 and his siblings, Betty Kobel, Don and Bob Coppert.
Jim proudly served his country as a paratrooper with the US Air Force. He retired in 1992 from Crane/Kemlite after 20 years of dedicated service. Above all, Jim loved to hear all of his grandchildren call him "Papa Jim".

Visitation will be Tuesday, November 3, 10:00 AM until the time of funeral services at 1:00 PM at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home, Plainfield. Interment will follow at Plainfield Township Cemetery. Overman-Jones Funeral Home
