Perez, Robert J. Age 89, of Lockport, passed away on Saturday, June 23, 2012. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Butler); loving father of Paul Perez; and dear brother of Dolores (William) Marquez. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, godchildren, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Soledad Perez; and sister, Josephine (late Joseph) Rodriquez. Robert was a World War II Navy veteran receiving 4 battle stars; enjoyed attending many naval reunions; enjoyed bowling and bowled a 300 game; was the baseball coach for the little league Rivals for 14 years; worked at Western Gard Platting for 25 years; and supervisor at Lockport High for 13 years. He was a member of the Lockport VFW Post 5788, member of the Lockport American Legion and Lockport Moose, and member of St. John Vianney Church in Lockport. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan, enjoyed word search books, and watching the military channel. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Robert's caregivers, Mary and Tammi; and Silver Cross Dialysis Renal Center. Family will receive friends at Goodale Memorial Chapel, 912 S. Hamilton Street, on Wednesday, June 27, 2012 from 3:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral service, Thursday, June 28, 2012, with chapel prayers 9:15 AM to St. John Vianney Church, 401 Brassel St., Lockport, IL for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM.
