Baker Jr., James H. of Manhattan, IL passed away Monday, December 31, 2012 at home with his loving family at his side. Born April 23, 1927in Custer Park, IL Survived by his loving wife of 62 years, N. Jean (nee Hidlebaugh); 2 sons, Kenneth (Robin) of Stillwater, OK, James III (Mary) of New Lenox, IL; 3 daughters, Debra Harrier of Zionsville, IN, Nancy (John) Long of Wilmington, IL and Karen Baker of Manhattan, IL; 11 grandchildren, Amy (Aaron) Mashburn, Benjamin (Katie) Baker, Sarah (Matt) Hooper, Gina (Rob) Miller, David Baker, Lisa Baker, Ashley (Mia) Harrier, Kara (Ryan) Ridner, Becky (Gary) Harvell, Dan (Katie) Long, Kristin (Jason) Barnett; 9 great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Victoria, Noah, Eli, Killian, Jade, Hannah, Haley, and Brooklyn; 1 brother, Joe Baker of Peotone, IL; 1 sister-in-law, Marcella Nicholson of Joliet, IL; and his faithful companion, Jay; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by his parents, James Sr. and Elizabeth (nee Howatt) Baker; grandson, Joshua Baker; a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Basil Crutchfield; and sister-in-law, Mary Baker. James and Norma were married on August 20, 1950. James farmed for 42 years in Wilton Township. He was a member of the Will Co. Farm Bureau. He was a member of the Wilton Center Federated Church where he held several offices, Mr. and Mrs. Euchre Club. He enjoyed being with his grandchildren, farming, fishing, traveling, b owling, playing cards, and being with friends. Funeral service for James H. Baker Jr. will be on 10:00am, Saturday, January 5, at Wilton Center Federated Church, Wilton Center with Pastor Judy Sherk officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 3-8:00pm at Forsythe Funeral Home, Manhattan. Interment Wilton Cemetery, Wilton Center.
