Mejia, Gloria Passed away after a courageous battle with breast cancer, Thursday, July 26, 2012. Survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Anthony Mejia; two loving daughters, Cynthia (Gary) Reader and Rachael (Adolfo) Arias Jr., loving grandmother of Ofelia (Juan) Santana, Gary Reader Jr., Adolfo Anthony, Olivia and Emilio Arias; and great-granddaughter Mia Santana; three brothers and two sisters, Lupe Hernandez, Zeke (Lorene) Salazar, Anna (Leo) Tibbitts, John (Antonia) Salazar and Nacho (Maria) Salazar; numerous devoted and caring nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, Ignacio and Ofelia (nee Hernandez) Salazar; two brothers, and a sister, Abel Salazar, Maria Rivera and Gilbert Salazar. Retired from Joliet Township High School Central Campus. Attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. Gloria enjoyed bowling and cards. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, on Monday, July 30, 2012, to St. Joseph Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial, time to be announced in Sunday edition. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Sunday from 3-7 PM.
