McNichols, David Michael Of Joliet, passed away peacefully in the company of family, on Wednesday, May 1, 2013. Age 48, born December 15, 1964, to John W. and the late Rose A. (nee Mauer) McNichols. Survived by his parents, John and Barbara (nee Lorenz) McNichols; his brothers, Michael and Brian (Holly) McNichols; his sister, Kate (Jan Kendrick) McNichols; his niece, Shayleigh and nephews, Declan and Brodan. He is survived by a dear aunt, Darlene McNichols, and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. David's many lifelong friends will also miss him. Preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents. Born and raised in Joliet, in his early life, David enjoyed wrestling on the Dirksen Junior High School wrestling team as well as throughout high school at both Joliet Catholic and Joliet Central High School (Class of 1984). In his recent years, David was well known for cooking for far too many people, though he lived on his own. He enjoyed having family and friends around and having meals together. He took pleasure in woodworking, was an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. The family wishes to express gratitude to the Joliet Area Community Hospice for the care, dignity and compassion shown to David and his family. Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated. Interment Plainfield City Cemetery. Visitation Monday from 4:00-8:00 P.M.
