Bostanche Sr., Robert J. "Bob" Age 83, a lifelong resident of Plainfield, IL, died Monday, August 12, 2013 at his home after a long struggle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born February 5, 1930 on his family farm located on Lockport Street in Plainfield. Beloved husband of 61 years to Phyllis K. (nee Nelson) Bostanche, whom he married May 17, 1952, loving father of Robert J. "Bob" (Joanne) Bostanche of Plainfield and Sally Markelz of Plainfield, adored grandfather of Jared Bostanche, Cody and Ryan Markelz, Jessica and Marissa Lockerby, Esther and Joseph Eugene, devoted son of the late Joseph and Katherine (nee Knicher) Bostanche, dear brother of the late Edward Bostanche, Katherine Manix-Bostanche, Joseph Bostanche, Andrew Bostanche and Ann Strukel-Bostanche, brother-in-law of John Schiltz, fond uncle of Ed, Dave and John Bostanche, John and Jim Strukel, Sandy Nanninga and Patty Beyer and the late Susan Bostanche, great-uncle of many. Bob was a 1948 graduate of Plainfield High School and starred as a quarterback on the football team, holding the longest touchdown record for many years. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956 stationed in Okinawa. A bricklayer by trade, Bob owned and operated Bostanche Masonry Inc. (BMI), Plainfield for many years and was a proud member of the Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local #74. He was also a member the Loyal Order of the Moose for over 50 years. Visitation Friday, August 16, 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield, IL. Funeral Services will be private.
