Fournier, Eugene B. "Gene" Passed away peacefully, Monday, June 11, 2012. Age 84 years. Survived by his brother, Roger A. (Linda) Fournier of Cheyenne, WY; niece and caretaker Bridgette (Daniel) Olha of Crest Hill and also numerous other nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Elsie Fournier; three sisters and eight brothers. Gene was born September 24, 1927 in Wetmore, Michigan. Veteran of WW II and the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. Gene received a Purple Heart, Korean Service Medal with 5 Bronze Service Stars and an attached "V" device for valor in combat. He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company in 1982. Funeral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, Friday, June 15 at 9:30 A.M. to St. Jude Catholic Church at 10:00 A.M. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Friday from 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass.
