

Jurmann, James E. "Jim" Age 67, died suddenly Saturday, December 22, 2012. Jim was a Vietnam Veteran and a longtime resident of Lockport. Former Commander of the Lockport
VFW Post #5788, an active member of the Lockport American Legion John Olson Post #18 and the
Loyal Order of Moose Lockport Lodge #1577. Jim enjoyed fishing and was known for making his smoked and pickled fish with a beer in his hand. He was lovingly taken care of by his wife of 43 years, Janet (Shepherd); his sons, John (Jenny) of Washington State and James of Lockport; sisters, Diana Jurmann of Lockport and Pam Jurmann Dertz of Escondido, CA; mother-in-law, Mary Jane Shepherd of Lockport; brothers-in-law, Tom (Terry) of Huntsville, AR, Wayne (Kathy) of Manhattan, Darrell (Kathy) Shepherd of Lockport, and George Dertz; and a sister-in-law Lynette Miller of Naperville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen (Caruk) and his father-in-law, Darrell "Sparky" Shepherd. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Juvenile Diabetes Association or the ASPCA would be appreciated. Funeral services will be held Friday, 9:30 am in the O'NEIL FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, 1105 E. 9TH ST. (159TH ST.), LOCKPORT. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood. Visitation Thursday, 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
